NEW BEDFORD, Mass.- Various ramp closures are ongoing in New Bedford from May 3 through May 17 as part of the I-195/Route 18 Interchange Rehabilitation Project.
The work affects multiple ramps along I-195 in both directions, along with associated street and sidewalk closures on surrounding local roadways, including key connectors between the interstate and Route 18.
Motorists are being directed to follow posted detours, which route traffic through alternate interchanges and nearby streets depending on the specific closure. Pedestrian access is also impacted in several corridors, with temporary sidewalk reroutes in place.
Officials advise drivers to expect delays and to use caution in the work zones as construction continues through the two-week period.
