Town Government will pay $ 27,500 to settle Police brutality lawsuit

Shrewsbury Town will pay $27,500 to Peter Zeno due to allegation of police brutality by local officers, according to Elaine Thompson from Telegram & Gazette.

Zeno, who is 50 years old, said he was unjustly beaten by local police officers in a holding cell on Sept. 6, 2010.

The Board of Selectmen authorized Town Manager Daniel Morgado to settle the case for $27,500, during an executive session on January 13.

“It was a good business decision,” Mr. Morgado said when Telegram & Gazette asked about the settlement.
