PORTLAND, Maine.- Two southern Maine men pleaded guilty Monday in federal court to their roles in a drug conspiracy involving a Massachusetts dealer, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maine.
Daniel Lydon, 46, of Portland, and Michael Myrick, 48, of South Portland were involved in a group that worked with a Massachusetts drug supplier to distribute drugs in southern Maine between May 2024 and April 2025, according to court records.
In November 2024, police arrested Lydon in a hotel room where they found more than 100 grams of methamphetamine, more than 700 grams of fentanyl powder and about $4,000 in cash. Investigators also searched Lydon’s phone and found evidence that he had been working with the Massachusetts supplier and discussing drug distribution, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Later in the investigation, authorities learned that Myrick was using his South Portland home to distribute drugs for the same Massachusetts supplier. In March 2025, investigators obtained evidence of continued communications between Myrick and the supplier. According to prosecutors, the messages showed that Myrick was receiving drugs, including fentanyl, and distributing them to other people and customers in southern Maine.
Lydon faces a minimum prison sentence of 10 years and up to life in prison. He could also face a fine of up to $10 million and supervision after prison for the rest of his life.
Myrick faces a minimum prison sentence of five years and up to 40 years in prison. He could also face a fine of up to $5 million and supervision after prison for the rest of his life.
The two men will be sentenced after the U.S. Probation Office prepares reports about their cases. A federal judge will determine their sentences after considering federal sentencing guidelines and other legal requirements.
Several other people have also been charged in connection with the same drug operation.
Maximo Pepin, 30, of Massachusetts, also known as Manny, was sentenced to 15 years in prison on May 7, 2026, after pleading guilty to a drug conspiracy.
Alec Dodge, 35, of South Portland; Matthew Estes, 47, of Falmouth; and Patrick McCarthy, 34, of Scarborough, have also pleaded guilty to a federal drug conspiracy charge.
Peter Call, 31, of Portland; Cassandra Smith, 36, of Old Orchard Beach; and Nicholas Porter, 35, of Windham, are also charged in the case with Lydon and Myrick. They are scheduled to appear in federal court to enter pleas.
