STOW, Mass.- Jason Rogers has resigned from the Stow Police Department following an internal investigation into his alleged misuse of law enforcement databases.
Rogers was placed on administrative leave June 18 after a complaint alleged he used police databases to track someone he knew.
The investigation found that Rogers accessed CORI through CJIS at least five times and ran vehicle information through Flock Safety and CJIS on multiple dates without a legitimate law enforcement reason.
The department sustained multiple policy violations and findings including improper use of his position and conduct unbecoming of an officer.
Rogers was later placed on unpaid leave. A scheduled employment hearing was canceled following his resignation.
Stow Police has filed a court complaint seeking charges for unauthorized CJIS queries. Chief Michael Sallese also forwarded the investigation to the Massachusetts POST Commission regarding Rogers’ certification.
The department has ended its relationship with Flock Safety and removed its remaining camera.
