CHELMSFORD, Mass.- Two Chelmsford firefighters are being recognized for their response to a cardiac arrest call that resulted in a patient being transported with vital signs restored and later reported to be awake and talking.
Firefighters Andrew Micu and Justin Aubert responded to a Worthen Street residence this week after crews were dispatched for an unresponsive male. They immediately began CPR and delivered multiple defibrillator shocks before paramedics arrived and assumed patient care.
The patient was transported with vital signs restored. The Chelmsford Fire Department said it was later informed that the patient was awake and talking.
The department recognized Micu and Aubert for their work during the emergency response.
The fire department also credited the coordinated efforts of the Chelmsford Police Department, Pridestar Trinity EMS, Lowell General Hospital paramedics, Lowell General Hospital and Chelmsford public safety dispatchers.
