FRAMINGHAM, Mass.- A 33-year-old woman was found dead inside a residence on Waverly Street in Framingham Thursday after police received a 911 call reporting an assault and an unresponsive female, authorities said.
Police received the call at approximately 12:20 p.m. on August 27. Officers responding to the residence found the woman dead inside, according to the Framingham Police Department.
Police arrested Flavio Alcantra Dias, 43, in connection with the assault. He is expected to be arraigned Friday in Framingham District Court on a charge of assault and battery causing serious bodily injury.
The preliminary investigation suggests Dias was known to the victim, authorities said.
The investigation remains active and is being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Framingham Police.
Authorities have not provided additional information about the circumstances of the woman’s death.
