NORTHBOROUGH, Mass.- An 11-year-old boy riding a bicycle and a Northborough police officer were injured Tuesday afternoon in a crash involving a police cruiser at the intersection of Main and River streets.
The crash happened around 3:15 p.m. August 25. Police said the cruiser was leaving a parking lot on Main Street when it crashed into the bicycle.
The boy was taken to an area hospital by Northborough Fire EMS with injuries believed to be minor. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The officer was also taken to an area hospital by Northborough Fire as a precaution.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Accident Reconstruction Team.
