CLINTON, Mass.- A Clinton man was arrested in Marlborough after authorities seized almost a kilo of cocaine during a multi-agency narcotics investigation, according to police.
Jose A. Cuellar, of 90 West Street in Clinton, was arrested August 18 after investigators identified him as a Clinton-based source of cocaine distributed in Central and MetroWest Massachusetts, the Clinton Police Department said.
Police said Cuellar possessed, distributed, stored and transported cocaine in Clinton and other targeted areas of North Worcester County during the investigation.
Detectives also executed a Massachusetts narcotics search warrant at a residence at 339 Boston Post Road East in Marlborough. The warrant was issued by Marlborough District Court, and police said the residence had been established as a stash residence at the conclusion of the investigation.
Authorities seized 917 grams of cocaine, 13 rounds of 9mm ammunition, scales, Clonidine pills, packaging material consistent with the manufacturing and distribution of narcotics, and $4,813 that police identified as drug proceeds.
Police estimated the seized drugs had a street value of more than $91,700.
Cuellar faces charges including distribution and trafficking of cocaine involving more than 200 grams, along with subsequent offenses related to those crimes, according to police.
Police said Cuellar was previously convicted in Middlesex Superior Court of trafficking cocaine and illegally possessing firearms and ammunition. He received a five-to-seven-year committed sentence in 2019 and was on Massachusetts parole for similar cocaine charges, according to the department.
The investigation involved the Clinton Police Department Drug Unit, DEA Worcester HIDTA, the Marlborough Detective Unit and the North Worcester County Drug Task Force.
