HYANNIS, Mass.- A local mother donated 1,900 ounces of breast milk to Cape Cod Hospital, marking the largest-ever donation to the hospital’s breast milk depot, according to Cape Cod Healthcare.
The donation was made by Maura DiPilato and will support babies across New England through Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast.
Cape Cod Healthcare said the donor breast milk provided through Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast supports family and community health by providing equitable access to safe, pasteurized human donor milk.
The healthcare organization credited DiPilato and her family for the record-breaking donation.
