BELLINGHAM, Mass.- A residential break-in in Bellingham is under investigation after a suspect allegedly entered a home through a window and assaulted one of the residents early Saturday morning.
Officers responded at approximately 12:37 a.m. on August 15 to the area of South Main Street and Mann Street following a report of a residential breaking and entering, according to the Bellingham Police Department.
Police said the suspect was described as a 6-foot, skinny Black male between approximately 30 and 40 years old who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
Detectives are canvassing the area for possible evidence and video footage, while police have increased patrols in the area throughout all hours of the day.
The department is asking residents to review security camera footage for any activity between 11 p.m. on August 14 and 1:30 a.m. on August 15.
Police are also encouraging residents to secure exterior doors and windows, particularly during overnight hours, and to report any suspicious people or activity.
