NORWOOD, Mass.- A 59-year-old Norwood man was arrested Sunday, August 9, after witnesses reported seeing him enter a parked pickup truck at a business on Pleasant Street.

James Rossignoll of Norwood was charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle in the daytime with intent to commit a felony.

According to police, witnesses confronted the man, who then left the area on foot. Officers found a man matching the description a short distance away and, after an investigation, arrested Rossignoll.

During the investigation, officers noticed similarities between Rossignoll and a person seen on surveillance video during vehicle break-ins reported on July 23.

Police said Rossignoll later admitted that he was the person shown in that surveillance footage. The information was forwarded to the officer investigating the July incidents, and additional charges are being sought.

According to police records, Rossignoll has been involved in similar activity since 2011.

Police reminded residents to lock their vehicles and remove valuables when possible. Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity.
