WORCESTER, Mass.- Owners of Infiniti Q50 and Q60 vehicles are being urged to take extra precautions after a series of overnight vehicle thefts in Worcester since June.

According to the Worcester Police Department, five Infiniti Q50 and Q60 vehicles have been reported stolen in the city since June. Investigators said suspects gained entry by breaking a window or the sunroof. In some cases, the thieves were able to program a new key fob after accessing the vehicle.

Police are encouraging owners of these models to reduce the risk of theft by parking in well-lit areas, using a steering wheel lock or another visible anti-theft device, keeping key fobs away from the vehicle to help prevent relay attacks, and reporting suspicious activity to law enforcement.

The department said the advisory follows a recent increase in thefts involving the two Infiniti models and is intended to help residents protect their vehicles.
