SHREWSBURY, Mass.- A moped rider was hospitalized after a collision with a car on Main Street in Shrewsbury shortly before 2 p.m. Friday near the Town Common.
The crash occurred on Main Street just prior to Route 140, in the area of the Shrewsbury Town Common. The individual operating the moped was transported to UMass for treatment of minor injuries.
A photo taken at approximately 1:58 p.m. showed the injured rider still on the ground receiving medical attention as emergency personnel worked at the scene.
Multiple police cruisers and emergency responders restricted access to a section of Main Street while the scene was being investigated and the roadway was managed.
The driver of the car and the cause of the collision were not immediately released.
