MILLIS, Mass.- A resident and their dog escaped safely after a three-alarm fire spread from a home to nearby structures and wooded areas in Millis on Monday evening.

Millis Public Safety dispatchers received several 911 calls reporting a structure fire at 25 Birch St. at approximately 5:45 p.m. on May 4, according to the Millis Fire Department.

When firefighters arrived, crews encountered a heavily involved fire fueled by high winds and several propane tanks on the property. Officials said the blaze spread to two smaller structures and approximately 3 to 4 acres of woods.
