WESTBOROUGH, Mass.- Cars have been stolen in Westborough and surrounding Massachusetts communities after drivers left keys inside vehicles during overnight hours, according to a public safety warning issued by local authorities.
Westborough police said they and neighboring departments have received multiple reports over the past several days involving motor vehicle break-ins, with some incidents escalating to vehicle theft when keys were left inside. The activity has primarily occurred overnight.
Officials urged residents to lock all vehicles, avoid leaving keys inside even briefly, and remove valuables to reduce the risk of theft or entry.
Authorities did not provide a total number of incidents but said the reports span multiple nearby communities and have prompted a regional advisory.
