MILLBURY, Mass.- A 21-year-old Worcester man is facing multiple charges after allegedly operating a front-end loader erratically on public roads in Millbury, according to police.
The incident began around 9:22 p.m. when Millbury officers were dispatched to Route 20 eastbound for a report of heavy machinery being driven dangerously on the highway. Officers were initially unable to locate the vehicle, but it was later found traveling on Park Hill Avenue.
Police said an officer attempted to stop the front-end loader using emergency lights, but the operator did not comply. A slow-speed pursuit followed, with speeds estimated between 10 and 15 miles per hour. During the pursuit, the operator allegedly drove erratically, nearly striking multiple utility poles and veering into oncoming traffic.
The vehicle continued onto Martin Street, where a responding officer positioned a cruiser to bring the front-end loader to a stop.
Authorities said the operator, identified as Kelvin Ucles-Flores, refused to exit the vehicle but was ultimately removed by officers without incident and taken into custody.
The case remains under investigation, and police have not yet released the full list of charges.
