Shrewsbury police responded to a reported threat at St. John’s High School on the morning of February 10, 2026, after receiving a call at approximately 9:31 a.m. concerning a suspicious post circulating on social media.
As a precaution, school officials placed the campus on lockdown while officers from the Shrewsbury Police Department were dispatched to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Police conducted a comprehensive sweep of school buildings and surrounding areas. During the investigation, authorities determined that the social media post referenced a threat intended for a St. John’s High School in Winnipeg, Canada and not the Shrewsbury campus.
A detective from the Shrewsbury Police Department contacted the Winnipeg Police Department, which confirmed it had received a similar threat on February 9, 2026.
After concluding the investigation and determining there was no credible or immediate threat, police and school officials lifted the lockdown and resumed normal school operations.
Police said there are currently no known threats or safety concerns affecting St. John’s High School or any other schools in the Shrewsbury community.
