Shrewsbury police confirmed Thursday that a public school employee has been arrested on child pornography–related charges. The individual, Aiden York, 19, is a Lunenburg resident employed within the Shrewsbury Public School system.
The Shrewsbury Police Department said it is working with the school district and law enforcement partners as the investigation continues. Authorities encouraged anyone who believes a child may have been affected, or who has relevant information, to contact the department at 508-845-1212 or the Massachusetts Child-at-Risk Hotline at 1-800-792-5200.
According to the Lunenburg Police Department, York was arrested earlier Thursday following the execution of a search warrant at his Lunenburg residence. The arrest was part of a multi-agency investigation involving the Massachusetts State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the United States Secret Service, and the New England Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory.
York was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and one count of dissemination of visual material of a child in a state of nudity or sexual conduct. He was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Fitchburg District Court. Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.
