Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend across Massachusetts. Residents are advised to set clocks back one hour before going to bed on Saturday night, November 1, as the official time change takes effect at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 2.
The change brings an extra hour of rest but also signals the start of shorter days and darker evenings as the state returns to Standard Time.
The fall time change marks the annual end of Daylight Saving Time, designed to extend evening daylight during summer months. With the return to Standard Time, mornings will be brighter while evenings grow darker earlier.
