The Shrewsbury community is coming together to support local police officer Brian Thibodeau, who was recently diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. In just three days, a GoFundMe campaign launched on his behalf has raised over $50,000 toward a $70,000 goal.

Thibodeau, a devoted father of three and a husband, has served the town for 18 years, earning a reputation for his dedication to public service and his willingness to help others in times of need. Friends and neighbors describe him as a reliable presence in the community, always ready to respond to emergencies or lend a hand.

“Please consider helping a dear friend, great person and dedicated Public Servant,” said Jim Vuona, former chief of the Shrewsbury Fire Department.

The funds raised through the GoFundMe will help cover medical bills, treatment costs, and support for Thibodeau’s family as he begins chemotherapy and radiation. Organizers of the campaign emphasized that contributions of any size will help the family focus on supporting him during this challenging time.

Michele Wiseman, a close friend of Thibodeau, wrote in the campaign description, “Brian has always been there for so many of us. Let’s rally together to be there for him.”
