According to the Grafton Fire Department, first responders arrived on the scene within one minute, where they found students evacuating the building. School staff reported a sulfur-like odor present in the school.
Upon investigation, fire crews located an overheated battery in a piece of cleaning equipment. The equipment was subsequently moved outdoors, and the building was ventilated by the fire department.
