The Sutton Police Department, in partnership with the Millbury Police Department, conducted an active shooter training at Sutton Middle/High School last Wednesday night. Officers worked through a variety of realistic scenarios and became more familiar with the school’s layout, emphasizing preparedness and coordination in emergency situations.
This training comes amid a day that has drawn national attention to school safety, as a tragic shooting occurred earlier in Minneapolis at Annunciation Catholic School.
Police officials noted that exercises like these strengthen officers’ ability to respond quickly and effectively, highlighting the critical role of training in preventing and mitigating potential threats.
