South Street will be closed to through traffic between Brook Street and Route 20 starting Wednesday, July 30, and continuing through Friday, September 5. According to the Shrewsbury Water and Sewer Division, the closure will take place weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to accommodate “a critical water main replacement project.”
During this period, the road will remain open to local traffic only. Detours will be posted for all other vehicles.
Officials advise the public to plan accordingly and seek alternate routes when possible. In a message to residents, the division stated, “We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete this essential infrastructure improvement.”
