A Worcester karate instructor has won a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery. Alan D’Allessandro won the prize playing the “$5,000,000 100X Cashword” scratch-off game, a $20 ticket.
D’Allessandro opted for the lump sum payment of $650,000 before taxes, rather than the annuity option. The winning ticket was purchased on March 20 at Edgemere Mini Mart in Shrewsbury.
The store also received a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
