A man from Boylston struck gold after purchasing a lottery ticket in Shrewsbury, winning a massive $10 million prize.
Michael Fitzgerald claimed the top prize from the “$10,000,000 Cash Blast” scratch ticket game. The winning ticket was purchased at Star Liquor on Route 9 in Shrewsbury, where the store will receive a $50,000 bonus for selling the lucky ticket.
Fitzgerald opted for the one-time cash payment, walking away with $6.5 million before taxes. He chose the $20 game after noticing that several large prizes were still available.
The winning ticket was drawn on October 3, 2024.
