A truck rollover on the westbound Massachusetts Turnpike near Interstate 495 on September 19, 2024, resulted in a hazardous materials spill and a closure that lasted several minutes.
Westborough Firefighters and first responders quickly contained the fuel leak and worked to clear the truck from the roadway.
Traffic was halted as crews contained the spill and began relocating the vehicle to open a lane. Although the roadway has been reopened, delays are still affecting traffic. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation reported that the closure at mile marker 106 had been lifted, but motorists are advised to expect lingering delays as crews complete their work.
