A fox caught in a tangled net near the Zeh Elementary School softball field was rescued by the Northborough Police Department on Monday morning. The situation was reported by a local resident walking their dog along Howard Street, who noticed the trapped animal. The resident’s dog detected the fox and drew attention to the situation.
Officer Jake Tondel responded to the call and carefully worked to free the fox. The officer took several minutes to cut through the knots that were constricting the animal’s neck. After the successful rescue, the fox quickly ran off.
In a statement, the Northborough Police Department commended Officer Tondel for his “great work.”
