Shawn Lambert, a 42-year-old man from La Grange, Kentucky, was arrested by the Shrewsbury Police Department for trafficking methamphetamine. According to a statement of facts filed in Westborough District Court, the arrest occurred after a traffic stop on Boston Turnpike (Route 9) on January 16, 2024.
During the stop around 2:00 a.m., a Shrewsbury officer noticed a white truck with a gray trailer heading westbound on Route 9. The trailer had non-functional rear lights, and neither vehicle had a visible registration. Lambert, the truck’s driver, claimed temporary registration, but dispatch couldn’t verify it. Further investigation revealed Lambert was driving with a suspended Kentucky license.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers found silver brass knuckles in the center console and a small pipe, suspected of smoking narcotics, behind the console within reach of the driver’s seat. Crystal methamphetamine was discovered in the pipe. Additional paraphernalia, including a brown bag with multiple glass pipes and a sock containing around 34 grams of crystal methamphetamine, was also found inside the vehicle.
Lambert faces charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, carrying a dangerous weapon, and trafficking 18-36 grams of methamphetamine. His bail was set at $10,000 by a judge from the Westborough District Court.
