Upon arrival, firefighters were met with heavy smoke coming out of the garage of the two-story residential building.
According to the agency, firefighting efforts started promptly, with firefighters deploying a hose line to address the fire primarily concentrated in the garage.
During the operations, there was a report that a pet dog could be on the second floor. A team of specialized firefighters found and safely brought the dog out, returning it to its owner.
According to the fire agency, their rapid response and firefighting measures led to the timely extinguishment of the fire, limiting damage primarily to the garage area.
In a public statement, the Shrewsbury Fire Department expressed its appreciation for the assistance provided by neighboring fire departments of Northborough and Westborough during this incident.
