The 2023 Shrewsbury Memorial Day parade: honoring veterans and uniting the community

The 2023 Shrewsbury Memorial Day Parade will commemorate and honor the sacrifices made by veterans in service to their country.

Participants are invited to gather at Town Hall for the parade formation, which begins at 8:45 am. Opening remarks will be made at 9:00 am, followed by the official start of the parade at 9:30 am from the Municipal Office Building located at 100 Maple Avenue.

The parade route will proceed along Maple Avenue, leading to the Town Center. At the Town Center, a Memorial Day address will be delivered.

Following the address, the parade will continue on to Mountain View Cemetery. The parade boasts an array of participants, including veterans organizations, the Shrewsbury High School marching band, the Oak School 8th grade band, scout groups, the Police Department, Fire Department, and various state and local officials.

All veterans are warmly welcomed to march in the parade, according to the organizers.

To facilitate parking convenience, a van shuttle service will be available from the town common to the town hall, starting at 8:30 am, for those parade participants who prefer to park at the town center.

The parade is set to take place on Monday, May 29, 2023.
