Honoring One Boston Day: Shrewsbury bridge shines in tribute

On April 15, 2013, two home-made bombs detonated at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, resulting in the loss of three lives and causing injuries to hundreds of people. Since then, the date has been recognized as “One Boston Day,” a day of remembrance and reflection on the resilience of the city and its people.

To mark the 10-year anniversary of the tragedy, the Kenneth F. Burns Memorial Bridge, which connects over Lake Quinsigamond the Town of Shrewsbury with the City of Worcester, is lit up in light blue and yellow on April 15, 2023, paying tribute to the victims and survivors of the Boston Marathon bombing.
