A photo from Worcester County St. Patrick’s Parade’s Facebook page dated 2009The Worcester County St. Patrick’s Parade will make a comeback on Sunday, March 12, 2023, starting at noon from the intersection of Park Avenue and Mill Street in the City of Worcester, Massachusetts.
The inclusive and family-friendly Saint Patrick’s Parade honors the arrival of Christianity in Ireland and the cultural contributions of Irish immigrants to America, carried on as a tradition from the Irish people.
The parade route will head north and usually lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. Parking on side streets is recommended to avoid blocking driveways, roads, or other vehicles.
According to the organizers, the parade’s most active region is Park Avenue between Chandler and Highland Street, owing to the bars, restaurants, and the reviewing stand at Elm Park. The quietest area is the segment of Park Avenue stretching from Lovell to Maywood Street.
To accommodate attendees, portable restrooms will be available at various sites, including Park/Mill staging area, Advanced Auto Parts, Webster Square Tire, Early’s Auto, CVS, Martin Tire, Walgreens, Country Bank, Berkshire Bank, and TD Bank.
The grand marshal for the 2023 parade is Gordon Hargrove, the former executive director of Friendly House, in Worcester.
The Worcester County St. Patrick’s Parade Committee is a non-profit organization financed by individual contributions, corporate sponsorship, and fundraising activities. It is a 100% volunteer-based organization, states the organization.
