District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. is offering funding for the fifth year to support safe and alcohol-free post-prom and post-graduation events.
DA Early aims to prevent students from driving impaired. He said, “Prom and graduation are major milestones that deserve to be celebrated, but too often we see these celebrations turn into tragedies.” These events, organized and overseen by adults, offer safe alternatives to high-risk activities that often follow the end-of-the-year celebrations for high school students.
The funding will be provided by the District Attorney’s Drug Forfeiture Reinvestment Program. Schools and parent groups can apply for these grants to either support existing events or to assist in establishing new events.
Applications are due by February 16th, 2023. To request a grant application, contact Ellen Miller at [email protected].
