Inside the Shrewsbury Public Library | Photo by Cristina EduardoA used bookstore, offering a wide selection of gently-used and like-new books, DVDs, and CDs, recently opened at the Shrewsbury Public Library.
The bookstore is constantly replenishing its inventory through donations and offers a diverse selection of books, including board books for babies, novels for students, bestsellers, classics, and non-fiction on various topics.
Prices are reasonable, with adult hardcovers priced at $2 and adult paperbacks, media, and all children’s books priced at $1. All proceeds from the bookstore go towards supporting library events and programs for patrons of all ages.
The Friends of the Shrewsbury Public Library board president, Vanessa Hale, expresses excitement over the success of the bookstore, stating “when we funded the creation of this space during the library renovation project, we had no idea it would evolve into such a hubbub of activity!”
The store can be found on the lower level of the library, just outside of the children’s room. Operating hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays, from May to October.
