Trooper Tamar Bucci, 34, was killed in the line of duty on March 3, 2022. Bucci was attempting to pull over to assist a disabled motorist when her police cruiser was struck by a gasoline tanker on Route 93 Northbound in Stoneham.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation announced that Burns Bridge Shrewsbury, as well as Zakim Bridge and Longfellow Bridge in Boston, and the Fore River Bridge in Quincy, will be light blue on March 8 and March 9 in memorial of Trooper Bucci.
Trooper Bucci was assigned to the Medford Barracks at the moment of her death. Before that, she was assigned to the Brookfield Barracks after graduating as a member of the 85th Recruit Training Troop on May 6, 2020.
Before joining the Massachusetts State Police, Bucci worked with the security department at Encore Casino, and also as a personal trainer. She was a graduate of Middlesex Community College and Andover High School.
