A free bag + Christmas tree pick up for PAYT residents in Shrewsbury

The Town of Shrewsbury is giving residents that participate in the “pay as you throw” (PAYT) program a free additional bag pick-up and a free Christmas tree pick-up.

A regular bag (non-PAYT), up to 35 gallons, could be used to dispose of Holiday’s gifts leftovers like styrofoam, wrapping paper, toy boxes, etc.

The free additional bag could place at the curb on the resident’s regular collection day, from December 27 through December 31, 2021.

For free, the town will also take care of a natural Christmas tree on regular collection days, starting on January 17, 2022.

Only one tree (with no decorations) per household will be collected.

The Department of Public Works placed a dumpster at the Old Beal School, 1-7 Maple Avenue Tuesday, January 4 through Tuesday, January 18, 2022, for those who don’t have the option of using the curbside pick up.
