The Shrewsbury “Turkey Trot for the Memory” will bring neighbors together on its 10th annual installment to support the Alzheimer’s Association of Massachusetts/New Hampshire.
The popular event consists of a 5-mile run and 2-mile fun run/walk on Thanksgiving Day morning to “send a message of hope to those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, as well as to those caring for them,” according to the organizers.
The Turkey Trot started in 2011 after the family of Shrewsbury resident Justice Francis O’Connor decided to honor his life and the struggle with Alzheimer’s disease through his last years.
This year, the run will start at the Shrewsbury common on Thanksgiving Day, 8:00 a.m. For more information and to participate in the run/walk, the Shrewsbury Post invites you to visit turkeytrotforthememory.org.
All proceeds go directly to the Alzheimer’s Association, MA/NH Chapter to Alzheimer’s research, patient and family care, and educational programming.
