Town Clerk Wright announces retirement after three decades in local government

Shrewsbury resident and long-time local government official, Sandra Wright, announced her retirement effective on February 26, 2021.

Wright, 70, will leave the local government after serving for 34 years, 11 of those as Town Clerk, according to a story posted in the Community Advocate.

In the story, Wright admitted that her last year (2020) was a “challenging one” that involved “the pandemic, a presidential election, early voting, and the mail-in ballots.”

“Of all the years I have worked there this year has been the most trying because of so many changes to the voting laws,” Wright said.

As of January 6, the Board of Selectmen has not announced who will replace Wright as Town Clerk.
