I’m writing here, humbly, to raise awareness about the highly disturbing political situation we are experiencing in the United States after the November 3, 2020, presidential elections.
In case you didn’t know, the ultra-rich media corporations do not care about your well-being. The media business is driven by profit and by the interest of its owners, like any other industry. Perhaps that interest is not the same as yours, even if it looks like it is.
If you voted for Biden-Harris you probably feel cheerful, and you are celebrating their projected victory. However, I strongly recommend you to be cautious about what you may think is true on this matter.
On the other hand, if you voted for Trump-Pence, you’re probably angry, not because your candidate supposedly lost, but because Trump declared that election fraud had taken place… And here is where the situation is troubling.
Instead of taking the fraud allegations seriously, most of the almighty mainstream media is just ignoring it, even trying to muting it, to the point that a speech by the seating President of the United States of America was censored because he alleged electoral fraud.
Disregarding election fraud claims by the President of the United States because according to the ultra-rich’s media and the opposite party they are “baseless allegations” or “conspiracy theories,” is extremely irresponsible behavior, and could lead our society to unimaginable levels of distrust in the government.
I know that the bias, in this case, is difficult to get through; but no matter whatever is said, only the legal process will determine if there was election fraud or not. Because in America we have due process, and until that is solved, no party has a President-elect. That’s a legal fact.
Despite what the ultra-rich’s media or any international organization or government says, the maximum authority in America is the Constitution.
In a typical election, in a normal year, the mainstream media will likely project a President-elect accurately. But we are talking about the year 2020, with Donald Trump as President, and with a COVID-19 pandemic crisis that has changed almost everything in our social life, including the large scale voting-by-mail process.
In a traditional election, the majority of the voters will go to the polls, and we will have a “projected President-elect” by the mainstream media on the same election day. A couple of weeks later, the States will certify the votes, and a few weeks after, the Electoral College will declare who is the President-elect that most likely will be the same as the projected by the media.
Who will be our next President? We don’t know yet. Hopefully, the institutions of the United States of America will be strong enough to prevail in this crisis, and regardless of who wins the election, we will continue trusting in the electoral system.
Furthermore, hopefully, we will learn to trust more in our neighbors, and less in the ultra-rich media corporations.
