Photo by Comunicas FoundationShrewsbury residents are allowed one additional plastic trash bag on their regular rubbish collection day to dispose of the holiday gifts’ wrapping paper.
Pay As You Throw (PAYT) customers will be allowed to discard one free Non-PAYT trash bag of up to 35 gallons right after the Christmas holiday to be used for non-recyclable items such as wrapping paper and Styrofoam, “which could potentially contaminate our recycling streams,” according to the Shrewsbury Board of Selectmen, who approved the measure.
The free bag program will be available from Thursday, December 26th, to Tuesday, December 31st, 2019.
