The Spirit of Shrewsbury returns in a few days to mark its 23rd anniversary supporting and promoting our town’s community.

The festival will be held on the weekend of September 28th and 29th, but the fun will start sooner with the Parade’s Grand Marshall dinner this Friday, September 20th, at the Italian American Victory Club (6 Dewey Road).

This year Grand Marshall is Shrewsbury official historian, Air National Guard veteran and author, Michael Perna. The dinner will be host by Sean Lawlor and will also have the 2019 Special Olympics Men’s basketball team as honorable attendees.

On Saturday the 28th, the Fun Festival Day will be held with diverse activities around town, including the traditional Knights of Columbus 5K road race, Oak School Expo under the Tent, Shrewsbury Got Talent, the annual benefit concert, and much more.

The parade will be held on Sunday 29th starting at 1 PM from Beal School (1 Maple Ave). Floats, marchers and teams will walk one mile to end at Oak Middle School (45 Oak Street). It is expected to end at 3:30 PM with a party of pizza, ice cream, and food trucks.

The Spirit of Shrewsbury is a non-profit organization to support local Shrewsbury charities and community members that was founded in 1996 by Sue DiLeo, Joyce Perreault, and Sue Falzoi.

The Shrewsbury Post invites you to visit the Spirit of Shrewsbury official website for more information on all the activities.
