Shrewsbury Special Olympic athlete Matthew Millett attended a celebration at the White House with the President of the United States of America Donald J. Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice-President Michael Pence, and Second Lady Karen Pence.

Millett was part of a nation-wide Special Olympics representation invited by the President on July 18th, 2019, to celebrate their outstanding participation at the Abu Dhabi Special Olympics World Games.

“Thank you [President Donald Trump] for inviting Special Olympics athletes to the White House to celebrate their success during the World Games,” said in Twitter the Second Lady, Karen Pence.

The Shrewsbury Special Olympics team brought home the World Games silver medal in basketball. But that’s not all. On the semifinals game against Canada, Matt Millett became famous after scoring a spectacular 3/4 shot.
