Senator Michael Moore (D-Millbury) announced that the 80th Citizens’ Legislative Seminar will be held by the end of the month at the Massachusetts State House. The purpose of the seminar is to aim towards a better education on the Commonwealth’s legislative process. The two-day seminar will feature presentations by the Senators and staff on the day-to-day experience by the legislators, as well as the inner process of the Legislature and the parliamentary role of the Clerk of the Senate. The Seminar will conclude with a simulated legislative hearing and a Senate session where participants will be invited to apply the knowledge learned during the program and participate in the live debate.
“This program provides an exciting opportunity for residents to gain a firsthand perspective about what it’s like to serve in the Senate. Participants debate legislation and meet with Senators and staff to learn more about the legislative process and day-to-day life on Beacon Hill. Past participants from our area have found the program to be both informative and enjoyable.”

All residents of the Second Worcester District (including Auburn, Grafton, Leicester, Millbury, Shrewsbury, Precincs 2 and 4 in Northbridge, Upton, Wards 5-7 and Precincts 1 and 5 in Ward 8 of the City of Worcester) are invited to participate, and will be selected from the pool of nominees who signed up online at Senator Moore’s website, or via phone at (617)722-1485.
