The Shrewsbury Electric and Cable Operations (SELCO) released a brief statement saying that they “Support an Open Internet.”

The statement on  was released on December 15th, just one day after the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) repealed the “Net neutrality” regutalions ruled on April 2015.

Following, SELCO’s statement:

SELCO has never throttled or engaged in a “paid access” model for any internet content providers, nor do we intend to engage in these behaviors. We subscribe to the American Cable Association’s view supporting an open internet. As the ACA states, “ACA and its members support a free and Open Internet, protected by a light touch regulatory regime that promotes continued investment in network infrastructure and provides appropriate relief for small providers.”As a customer owned utility, it is our goal to provide you with the best service at a fair price. We have made significant investments in our broadband plant and will continue to improve our infrastructure to the benefit of our customers.
