Comunicas to launch crowdfunding campaign for expansion in Venezuela

In 2008, Venezuelan-born Shrewsbury resident and editor of the Shrewsbury Post, Juan Perfetti, started Comunicas’ first neighborhood media outlet, in the town where he grew up in Venezuela.

On November 28, Perfetti will launch an online crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to expand the organization’s operations to all the states of Venezuela, and thus create a “Venezuelan Community Media Network” independent of the political parties, that empowers the people from the neighborhoods, creates bridges, emphasizes the dialogue, and inspires them to build a better Venezuela … regardless of the hopelessness, the bad government, the bad politicians and the big money.

The event will be held at the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) building, located at 50 Milk Street, Boston, MA.
