Mass State Police alerts about a phonecall scam

The Massachusetts State Police issued a warning via a Facebook post earlier this month about scammers that have been trying to get people’s data over the phone by telling them they have warrants for that person’s arrest. The scam consists on demanding personal information over the phone and asking to transfer money to the caller in order to avoid arrest. The State Police has ensured people that this is a hoax, and recommended those who receive said calls to hang out immediately without providing any information, as well as explain that in case of an arrest or warrants, they do not call in advance with that intention.
