According to the Town Clerk Sandra Wright, 7,100 of the voters approved the measure. 3,704 voting against.
Supporters had claimed that the override was necessary to help the schools increase staffing, purchase materials, and reduce classroom sizes.
The Board of Selectmen supported the override request.
